Temperature-lane review
Align product range, packaging qualification, handling time and route capability; chilled, controlled-ambient and frozen services are subject to validation.

Overview
Healthcare cargo demands disciplined preparation, handling and communication. Medicines, clinical supplies, diagnostics and healthcare equipment can have distinct temperature, security, documentation and delivery requirements. FSC coordinates air, ocean and inland options against the product profile and agreed service scope, with GDP processes and IATA CEIV Pharma certification supporting our quality and competence framework.
Temperature ranges are shipment-specific. Typical controlled options may include +2–8 °C chilled, +15–25 °C controlled ambient and frozen lanes, subject to product stability data, packaging qualification, route availability and operational capability. We review shipper instructions, packaging, monitoring expectations, excursion escalation and contingency arrangements before booking. A lane is not considered suitable until relevant capabilities are confirmed.
FSC brings together partner-air capacity, ocean services and 140 warehouse facilities across a 2.1 million m² network. Shipment planning considers seasonal exposure, transfer points, handling windows and customs processes. Customers retain responsibility for product classification, stability requirements and validated packaging; FSC coordinates agreed logistics controls and shares available milestone information throughout the movement.

Integrated logistics
A temperature-controlled plan must match the product's approved conditions and the operational capabilities of every relevant handover. FSC coordinates lane review before dispatch.
Align product range, packaging qualification, handling time and route capability; chilled, controlled-ambient and frozen services are subject to validation.
GDP processes and IATA CEIV Pharma certification support defined quality controls, competence and documented operating procedures.
Access partner-airline capacity through 1,200+ weekly flight connections and three dedicated charter programmes, subject to booking and acceptance.
Coordinate approved storage, transfer windows and handling instructions with capable partners for the temperature profile agreed for a shipment.
Plan secure handovers and shipment documentation appropriate to product value, risk profile and applicable customer or regulatory requirements.
Agree notification contacts and escalation steps for temperature alerts, delays or other deviations, subject to monitoring data and service scope.
Planning perspective
How it works
Review the product requirements and route before cargo handover, and agree controls with all parties involved in the shipment.
Provide temperature range, stability and handling instructions, packaging details, shipment dimensions, security needs and required delivery window.
FSC reviews route, seasonal conditions, storage and transfer points with available partners; service acceptance is confirmed only after capability checks.
Define monitoring responsibility, alert thresholds where applicable, contact chain, documentation and escalation actions before dispatch.
Confirm packaging is qualified for the route and duration, documentation is complete, and cargo is tendered within agreed handling conditions.
Coordinate shipment milestones and share available monitoring or exception information under the agreed service and reporting arrangements.

| Chilled | +2–8 °C | Qualified packaging, controlled transfer and excursion process | Subject to lane validation |
| Controlled ambient | +15–25 °C | Seasonal exposure, dwell time and packaging performance | Subject to lane validation |
| Frozen | Product-specific sub-zero range | Approved set point, handling method and monitoring | Confirm per product and route |
| Ambient | Product-specific ambient limits | Transit duration and environmental exposure | Confirm per product and route |

Cold-chain operations depend on suitable infrastructure, trained handling and well-defined handovers. Images illustrate logistics settings only and do not certify a particular lane or product capability.

Designed around the cargo

Case study
The distributor needed consistent handling for multiple temperature profiles across a mix of air connections and destination delivery windows.
FSC reviewed product instructions and route conditions, coordinated partner capability checks and aligned handling milestones and exception contacts before dispatch.
